Great customer service. Nice atmosphere. Pink straws. Hot Mochas. Fair prices. Pooches welcome . What else is there to want? Love this little gem.

The guys working were so nice and the Italian sub was exactly what i needed! Great prices too. I got a good sized, filling sub with a 16 oz iced latte and a bag of chips for $10. That's a killer deal, especially in Portland. 10/10 recommend for a quick bite, and it's also a 5 minute walk from the train station.

Got the Italian sub, best sandwich I've had in long time!! Customer service was good as well and food was done fast 10/10

THE BEST coffee in Portland. The person who works there is always so friendly. Secret gem.

I think it's just one guy who works at this joint and he's an outstandingly kind, friendly man who has a lot of regulars. He runs the place in a somewhat shady part of town, and lots of small business like this in Portland have closed or moved due to vandalism and crime. It's like a boutique cafe. There isn't a lot of seating, some outside but only a couple tables. if more than 5-10 patrons came in there wouldn't be enough room. He serves tasty breakfast sandwiches, bagels, pastries, snacks and coffee/beverages.

I stopped in on Tuesday and got a cup of coffee while I was waiting for an appointment. The coffee was delicious and the service was great. The staff made me feel comfortable and relaxed and seemed happy to have my business. They were warm and friendly and appreciative. I would visit this place again.

Go in and have the sausage and ham on a bagel. The owner is a great guy to chat with.... support this local business!!!

Robert is like the heart of this neighborhood. He's friendly, knows almost everyone's names as well as their pet's names, and really goes out of his way to make his customers feel like they're at home. The kind of place I like to visit and even if his business had no other reason to visit it (which is obviously doesn't) I would still recommend Monte Rossa Cafe.

Got lost while visiting from Houston Texas and found a little piece of heaven in this place. I got a mixed smoothie (peach and mango) made by Robert. Which was absolutely one of the best smoothies I've ever had. Came with whipped cream which was new to me but it was an amazing touch. Definitely recommend! Robert was really friendly and pleasant to talk to.

The best way to start your day if you're in the downtown Portland area in the midweek is at Monte Rossa's in Chinatown! Rob has been running this place for about 10 years and still takes care of each and every customer personally. More often than not, he'll remember your preferences after only a couple visits! I typically start my day here with either a double espresso or green tea. On days that I'm running behind, I can always count on the croissant breakfast sandwich (Rob makes his own amazing version of Dijon mustard!). The menu here ranges from sandwiches, subs, and paninis, salads, all the way to desserts such as cheesecakes, cakes, and muffins. The ambiance is comfortable, lots of regulars, super easy parking. Monte Rossa doesn't offer wifi as Rob would rather have his customers interact with each other. A couple tables with umbrellas outside is a perfect spot for those rare sunny Portland days. I give Monte Rossa 5 Stars for that comfortable non-corporate feel and because Rob is such a likeable guy. If you get a chance to pop in, tell him I said hi!
